How terracotta base?

I can make a cake and if you have not guessed that a Flower Pot. I'm not sure how the color of my pasta sugar to look like terracotta. I am covering the whole cake with fondant. Oh and then use the liquid food dye or need to get the type in the small container that is placed on a toothpick?

Yes, brown, orange and red must. You need to use the dye and thicker because otherwise the consistency of the base changes too much and too thin. Especially as you change the color of both, you must use the type of concentrate. Just go to the store, see the small pots and find one that is closest to the color you want and find another that makes the difference, for example, if you find one is too dark, should not have to use much less, is too pink or Get One that is more brown.
